Filming & locations
Given the above observation with respect to budget and also that all filming will be undertaken at locations in or near to Southport, Merseyside, to address the implications for cast, most shoots will be scheduled through the second quarter of 2024 when it is hoped that the weather will be settling down somewhat. Since there is no OMF budget for travel, applicants from Southport and its environs will be shown preference for some roles.
Cast & Crew Support
We fully understand that while cast & crew may well share our desire to create awareness of the issues exposed in Down & Out, in recognition of that support we should give back as much as we can, in kind if not financially. All credited cast & crew will therefore receive a souvenir copy of the completed film, clips can be provided for showreels and lead cast detailed in PR. Should there be a live premiere screening, credited cast & crew will be invited.
Casting Call
Casting will take place when location search has been completed and the initial screenplay has been written, anticipated early in 2024. At that point cast and crew requirements for Down & Out will be registered with our selected casting platform, most likely Star Now. Having previously worked with the Down & Out director and core crew, cast from previous OMF features including Tariro, One Way Traffic and AfterAffects will not need to audition. Talent applying from the casting call however will be required to submit a simple video audition (there will not be any live auditions). The casting call will be announced in the OMF Cast & Crew newsletter but if any of the roles interest you you can register your interest in advance.
